A hilarious new novel from Elizabeth Eulberg about taking the wall out of the wallflower so she can bloom. Don't mess with a girl with a Great Personality. Everybody loves Lexi. She's popular, smart, funny...but she's never been one of those girls, the pretty ones who get all the attention from guys. And on top of that, her seven-year-old sister, Mackenzie, is a terror in a tiara, and part of a pageant scene where she gets praised for her beauty (with the help of fake hair and tons of makeup). Lexi's sick of it. She's sick of being the girl who hears about kisses instead of getting them. She's sick of being ignored by her longtime crush, Logan. She's sick of being taken for granted by her pageant-obsessed mom. And she's sick of having all her family's money wasted on a phony pursuit of perfection. The time has come for Lexi to step out from the sidelines. Girls without great personalities aren't going to know what hit them. Because Lexi's going to play the beauty game - and she's in it to win it.

I have to say I am a huge fan of Elizabeth Eulberg's novels teen fiction novels and her latest is no exception. I really liked Revenge of the Girl With the Great Personality because it was a quick and fun read.  I gobbled this book up in a matter of hours.  The story starts off with Lexi and her seven year old sister Mackenzie at a child beauty pageant.  Yes, that is right her sister is a child beauty queen and her mom is the epitome of a pageant mom.  Mackenzie has been on the pageant circuit for years and the money and stress are finally taking a tole on the whole family.

Lexi and gay best friend Benny decide it's time to start living instead of just going through the motions at high school.  They make deals with each other to push one another outside of their comfort zones.  Lexi tells Benny if he talks to his crush she will wear makeup to school.  Lexi starts dressing nicer, fixing her hair, and putting on makeup.  She starts to get the notice of the popular crowd and even the notice of a cute football player.  While she likes him he is not her crush Logan the boy she is obsessed with.

I liked that this book is about finding out who you are and coming to terms with the person inside.  Lexi discovers that a few changes in clothes and hair don't make all your problems disappear.  She still has to deal with her relationships and find a way to make her mom listen to her daughters and respect their wishes.  This book is also about being careful what you wish for because Lexi does get her date with her dream guy but things don't go exactly the way she would have liked.  I liked that Lexi is real and I could relate to her in that she has mom problems, boy problems, and little sister problems.  In Lexi's story she discovers that she is not a Glam Queen or a Tomboy but somewhere in between.  There is nothing wrong with a little makeup as long a the end of the day you don't lose sight of who you are.

In conclusion, I liked the message in the book and how Elizabeth Eulberg was able to get it across in a cute funny way.  This book never got preachy.  This book is not about finding love so I know it is trite but I liked how Lexi had to learn to love herself first before she knew she can let others love her.  I love how in the end she is able to accept that she is a girl with a "Great Personality" and has something to offer the world. The ending left me with a sense of hope that everything would work out for Lexi romantically and financially. I give this book four solid lazer pistols because it was out of this world.
